April 03 - 5770 - 'Wakeup With Pureity' TNN

Just four years ago, the city of Amani Unus, Planet Costellon, was viciously attacked by an outside threat. The invasion, lasting just two days, was caught entirely by the planet's major news source: Topeki News. Which only just recently released it's footage and resources on that fateful day. 

Amani Unus is the largest city on Costellon, as well as the capital city of the Interstellar Covenanted States. Just two days prior to the invasion, and an ocean away,  Pureity Moss, news anchor for Topeki News channel 24, broke the news that unknown space craft were orbiting high above the planet near Amani Unus. A day later, she brought famous scientists Jeplin Nouse and Ergoz Bairs onto the set to discuss the findings that Jeplin had made about these space craft. 

As Pureity listened, Ergoz and Jeplin explained the alien and technological superiority of the massive fleet that choked trade to and from the planet. They told her that no society as advanced as this, has a need for war. No one even guessed what they'd be talking about a day later. 

TRANSCRIPT:
Pureity: 
"Good morning Knod, Genesikos and our viewers around the world. This is the Wakeup To Pureity Morning Show. Let's get started.
Before we begin with our daily news, we got some reports out of Phoinikes Space Observatory to share.
Just a night earlier, I spoke with Chairman Uliye-David Al'lon with regards to unidentified space craft orbiting high above Keosteyon. He confirmed these reports today just before the show, and I am astonished to say the least. 
To uh, elaborate further, is astrologist uh, Jeplin Nouse and radio technician Ergoz Bairs out of the Jo'alif-Zeti Space Center."

Ergoz Bairs:
Thank you, Mrs. Moss."

Jeplin Nouse:  
"Thank you, Pureity."

Pureity:
"Uh, Ergoz. I know that the Statesman had penned a message to the largest ship in the fleet. Do you have any word on how that is possible?"

Ergoz Bairs:
"Yes, Pureity. A message was penned by the Statesman, and sent to the central ship in the fleet. How he had this done, was by computer transmission with the comunet satellite in orbit over the planet. The message was binary.  He wrote it, and our technicians translated it."

Pureity:
"So the Comunet Satellite can communicate with any ship in the universe? How is this possible, and if this society is technologically advanced, would they have a need for binary? Please elaborate."

Ergoz Bairs:
"Well, Pureity. As you well know, Binary is a universal language of ones and zeros. Our message was translated into binary using the three most widely spoken languages on Keosteyon: Barasa, Oheyos and Iodos. We suspect that the foreign ships have some knowledge about our culture, as they've parked away from our communications array above Diana, and close to the city of Amani Unus. We also suspect their peaceful. No society in the universe could be violent at this rate of technological superiority. As for the conditions of binary, we believe that any explorer society out there would use it extensively to understand and collect data on societies in between the primitive and advanced stages such as ourselves."

Jeplin Nouse:
"I agree totally. I believe that any advanced society that parks outside our capital city, will send an envoy down to speak with us. I further agree with the use of binary as a contact point with alien societies. That's how we met the Spartan Empire three years ago."

Ergoz Bairs:
"I agree. I agree wholeheartedly."

Pureity: 
"Okay, Ergoz. As for the translation of the binary code the Statesman sent up, I'm sure our new friends have a way to do that. Now Jeplin. What distinctions can you define from your stellar sonar maps of the foreign ships, and how is it that they are able to be at our literal doorstep so quickly and efficiently?"

Jeplin Nouse: 
Well Pureity, as an astrologist, it isn't my job to speculate on their technological capabilities. It's likely that they had a small radar print. However, as for their shape, that is is relatively easy. Their  cone shaped bodies make it easier for them to dart through planetary atmospheres and likely give off a small radar print. For that, you'll want to consult an engineer.  As for their sonar mapping, we found that they come heavily armed and ready if we screw things up. Hopefully we won't, as the government currently believes them to be friends of Sparta, considering their technological advances."

Pureity:
Okay, Jeplin and Ergoz. When we come back from break, we'll bring in reporter Samu Mars from Amani Unus. He'll talk with citizens there and get their points of view on the situation.
