Biography

Early Years

The Roz name has always held distinction since colonial times. When the Saokan people were colonists of the Qoljan empire, the Roz name was a founding name. Since the founding of the Republic, the Roz name has evolved to become a distinct title within the nation. First held by a freed Roz slave, and then later in modern times, by both the Rozi household, the ever present Qojionite Roz household. One must understand where the Roz name comes from, by understanding the youngest of two daughters to Senator Hoygiz Roz of Kaz-Malanka District.

Roqoda and Dolsa Roz both have Qojionite names, which respectively mean Flying Eagle, and Of Hope. In Qojionite culture, it is the male heir who carries on the traditions of the house. However, for Senator Hoygiz Roz, who hoped for a son to carry his name forward; he was disappointed to find that it was his last born daughter Dolsa. Dolsa, whose fondness since an early age, for politics; would have to carry the name forward.

That meant that Dolsa was registered culturally as half Hodqite, to be eligible for the native culture's matriarchal blessings. A feat that at first, made the young child the most detested of her youth. Dolsa never understood this situation, but grew very fond of both Qojionite and Hodqite culture nonetheless.

Middle Years

Despite Dolsa having suffered from seizures while living in Goyau-Saoka, she found a place as a great speaker in the speaking hall at Goyau-Saoka. Addressing concerns such as global warming, sexism, and racism within the highly structured small town society. She dreamed of moving to the city of Univamzoy-Saoka since she was ten years old. After a major anxiety induced seizure at her local apprentice shop in Goyau-Saoka, Dolsa and the Roz family moved to Kaz-Malanka District in Univamzoy-Saoka's Old City sector. The hope was that Dolsa would be closer to her nerve doctors who worked in that district, and as a result, Dolsa's seizures lessened over time so that she could become class speaker at her twelfth grade graduation.

For Dolsa, the seizures were a thorn in her side that often kept her from making and keeping friends. Her at times indifferent father, and over protective mother, made life rather difficult for the young teen who wanted to just make a difference in her world. She often did photo-ops for her father while he was on the campaign trail, and loved her mother's hugs. But Dolsa was anything but an unassuming teenager.

After the assassination of then-sitting Statesman, a Qojionite by the name of Roybolqi Oy'yolqa, Dolsa watched as the first Hodqite was sworn into office, and then became amused by the rapid growth of the city state after his tenure started. At fifteen, Dolsa enrolled in the Kaz-Malanka Debate competitions, becoming a late-comer who would carry her Team Soliqi, or Team Phoenix, to glory as the first ever female debater in the history of the small country. Despite the recognition from the newly elected Statesman, Izok Miyau, Dolsa never received similar treatment in Kaz-Malanka District or Goyau-Saoka. The Town and district both have a large Hodqite population who resent her father's attempts to play their cultural laws to his favor. As a result, the rather intelligent teenager was bullied throughout her school for this recognition, and challenged on issues of race and privilege that she had no idea existed. Regardless, Dolsa wasn't totally sheltered from her foes, and had made many friends of Hodqite descent, who taught her to shoot for the stars, and never forget where she comes from.
