The republic of Genesikos (Gen-ee-see-kos), long considered the youngest superpower of Planet Costellon, controls through both diplomacy and economic strength, the continent of Genitia, part of the Geshoban land mass in the western quadrant of the planet.

Costellon was once a colony in the then massive empire of Knod, which too had been a backwater for many centuries in the east.

While Costellon loved it's colonial master, many people began to rebel against high taxes and the lack of personal and political liberties in the micro-managed country. As such, the people rebelled and formed the young republic of Genesikos in the name of democracy and human liberty.

For thirty years, the young country would slowly grow and develop after it's rebellion, only to be forced into another and far more pointless war with Knod over shipping and trade rights in the east.

Although that war would be considered a draw, and the younger Genesikos would eventually secure it's freedom; it would later be engulfed in it's one hundred year history by a major civil war which threatened to tear the country apart.

Genesikos would survive the civil war and enter the 1700s battered, bruised and broke. But two world wars and a nuclear arms race later - roughly the entire span of the 1700s upwards to the early 2000s - Genesikos would rise to become the major world power and economic might, and would later be the inspiration for the founding of the Interstellar Covenanted States some five hundred years later, spreading its seed throughout the universe and the galaxy, and spreading the democratic values and belief in human rights that drove it to seek its freedom in the first place.
